Katsushika Hokusai was a distinguished ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period in Japan, known for his dual roles as a painter and printmaker. He gained widespread acclaim for his woodblock print series, Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, which includes the famous print The Great Wave off Kanagawa.

The waterfall located in the town of Yōrō, situated in present-day Gifu prefecture, is referenced in a legend that highlights the devotion of a son who provided some of its water to his sick father. After consuming the water, the father experienced a miraculous recovery.

A beautiful and captivating image to grace any room.
